The Year Round Cold Frame is a great choice for someone who wants to grow plants but does not have space for a complete greenhouse. The Year Round Cold Frame features thick 4mm polycarbonate and aluminum frame construction, and includes both a poly cover and insect netting cover, so that the unit can be used throughout the year.

Exaco Returns Policy: This item can be returned in its original condition for a full refund or replacement within 30 days of receipt. We do not provide or allow for “Buyer’s Remorse” – we will take items back, but the end-user must pay for the return freight. We only give full credit for products received in re-sellable condition. It is assumed that no greenhouse arrives back in a re-sellable condition (based on practical experience) at a minimum most if not all packaging has to be replaced – and all too often some parts are damaged – as a result we have a minimum restocking charge of 20% for all our greenhouses – but if the product is damaged – the cost of damaged parts will be subtracted from the refund. Exaco Damage Policy: The end-user must take delivery of all our products/packages – even if a box is damaged. They are expected to note the damage on the Bill of Lading, and to notify us. Small items: UPS & FedEX shippable: customer Calls/Chats/Emails us within 30 days of purchase and we will immediately send them a replacement part/s. Greenhouses: Customer will be asked to take digital pictures (if possible) and email them to us. Based on our assessment we will either immediately replace the damaged parts and/or suggest a simple fix (as damage to aluminum greenhouse parts is relatively easy to repair – with a pair of pliers) – we often give direct compensation to the customer for cosmetic damage (RIGA or VictorianGreenhouses: usually $100) – but we replace parts with structural damage.For more information check out our Returns Policy.

Wow!
I planted seeds both inside and outside the cold frame and the plants inside are nearly five times the size! I knew it was risky, but I planted a tomato and it survived a freeze with no damage. I had worried that it would be too warm on warm sunny days (I leave for work too early to open it), but it seems to temper the…well. temperature extremes. The customer service is great. My compliments to Claudia.

Year Round Cold Frame Questions
Would it be possible to grow lettuce year round in a Tall “Timber” Raised Bed & Cold Frame Combination even if temperatures fall below freezing such as in NJ in USA?

Hi M.,
Thank you for your interest in our cold frames! Cold frames are designed to be a season extender and are excellent for starting earlier in the season and keeping things growing late into fall. They will heat up quickly on a sunny day and retain that heat into the colder evening. They are also very good for seed starting early.
The Year Round cold frame will protect against frost and may be heated with a heat pad for much colder temperatures and cloudy days. The cold frame will not be able to withstand the New Jersey winters without adding heat. I would also recommend looking at the Biostar 1500 cold frame which has 8mm twin wall poly for improved insulation.
