Needed a compost bin for a community garden in the Arizona Low Desert. Very hot summer temps and low humidity.
Shipping: Fast using FedEx Home Delivery. Arrived without major damage.
Assembly: YouTube video helped. Took about an hour to figure out how to pop the wall panels loose and assemble. Sturdy and easy to move after assembly. One panel had a broken corner that was not worth replacing. Very nice finished appearance which is important because the bin is highly visible to walkers and bikers on community paths. Had to play with top to install it on the bin.
Installed on bare soil for the microbes and help keep temp and humidity with limits.
This bin holds a lot of compost! Easy to add from the top.
So far so good.

Thermo King 900 Composter Questions
What is the latching system for the lid? Could I see a close up picture please? I live in bear country and am considering this as a bear resistant solution.

Thank you for reaching out! Thank you for reaching out. You can see the lid latch around minute 1:15 in this YouTube Video.
Although this model features thicker sides that other models – if a bear would like to get in, he definitely could do so and there is a chance of breakage.
In bear country, I would recommend one of the Juwel Aeroquick options. They are a very heavy duty composter with very thick sides and sliding latches on the doors. If a bear does manage to get in – you may need some side clips (if they get lost) but the composter is very rugged.
