Exaco Returns Policy: This item can be returned in its original condition for a full refund or replacement within 30 days of receipt. We do not provide or allow for “Buyer’s Remorse” – we will take items back, but the end-user must pay for the return freight. We only give full credit for products received in re-sellable condition. It is assumed that no greenhouse arrives back in a re-sellable condition (based on practical experience) at a minimum most if not all packaging has to be replaced – and all too often some parts are damaged – as a result we have a minimum restocking charge of 20% for all our greenhouses – but if the product is damaged – the cost of damaged parts will be subtracted from the refund. Exaco Damage Policy: The end-user must take delivery of all our products/packages – even if a box is damaged. They are expected to note the damage on the Bill of Lading, and to notify us. Small items: UPS & FedEX shippable: customer Calls/Chats/Emails us within 30 days of purchase and we will immediately send them a replacement part/s. Greenhouses: Customer will be asked to take digital pictures (if possible) and email them to us. Based on our assessment we will either immediately replace the damaged parts and/or suggest a simple fix (as damage to aluminum greenhouse parts is relatively easy to repair – with a pair of pliers) – we often give direct compensation to the customer for cosmetic damage (RIGA or VictorianGreenhouses: usually $100) – but we replace parts with structural damage.For more information check out our Returns Policy.

Wow!
I like to have fresh greens all winter and this is how I do it. I have two Juwel Cold-Frames. I sprayed black paint on two1-gallon bottles for each. Fill the bottles with water and put them at the back wall of the Cold-Frame. The sun warms them during the day and keeps the Cold Frame warm enough at night that the greens never freeze.
I grow chard, lettuce, spinach, leeks and sweet basil right through the winter.
During the summer, I use the automatic opener and grow warm weather greens in the Cold-Frame. When it starts to get hot, I throw a piece of shade cloth over the Cold Frame and leave the doors open several inches using the clips. Now I can grow greens through the summer and the deer can’t eat them.

Double Cold Frame Questions
Will an automatic vent opener function properly when mounted on one side of the double cold frame?

Hi There,
The double cold frame is shorter in the front than the Biostar 1500 that comes with an auto opener. While the auto opener would work to ventilate your cold frame, the piston will extend about ½” or so below the bottom of your coldframe into the ground, which could be an issue. If you are placing your coldframe on a raised bed, it would likely be high enough above the ground that is should work.
